“Mom Dad ‘n’ me” provide an opportunity to families to get involved with the critical issues of the society, through the medium of art. Along with some of the most gifted and upcoming artist, participants will produce unique paintings, these unique collaborative paintings will be their souvenirs and a reminder to them that the strokes from their brushes have painted smiles on the faces of Khushii’s underprivileged beneficiaries.

The concept is for each family to color the canvas with their individual imagination with a help of a professional artist whilst spending quality time. The idea of this fundraiser is to contribute to the society through the glory of art and the art work created will be put up for an exhibition to be held in August 2009. The participation fee for this endeavour is a nominal amount of Rs. 35,000 and it is this fee which will generate funds for the Khushii projects specifically :

  • Shikshaantra: where 1624 children from the underprivileged communities get supportive education through remedial classes, regenerating increased interest in studies, and also providing the children in these centers with a mid day meal.
  • Kala: where 1400 youths are being given vocational training in various job oriented courses including computer training, beauty and culture, housekeeping, cutting and tailoring etc. Once these young men & women complete their courses, Khushii helps to ensure that they are placed in appropriate jobs.

The event will be conducted through Sunday workshops or camps. Everycamp will have 50 families participating. 50 artists will be the part that camp.The camps will be held on a Sunday. The dates for the same are 10th May, 7th June & 6th July .The camp will be held for 6 hours.  The families will be provided lunch, snacks, tea, coffee, cold drinks etc. during the camp. Photo of canvases and child’s profile will be printed in catalogue that  will  be given to all the participants.
 
The grand finale of the event will take place in the last week of August, where the canvases will be exhibited for public viewing.
