Whatever said and done, India, a country of one billion
heads spends just about a fraction of national resources on the welfare
of its people. By comparison today, the NGO contribution is, if not
higher, on par with the government expenditure in the sectors of education,
health, hygiene and social welfare.
Where from the NGO funds come? The philanthropists develop trust on
NGO interventions and support through individual contributions running
in billions of dollars. NGOs generate funds through their hard work
and commitment towards the development of marginalised and destitute
communities.
When KHUSHII initiated projects for the developmental causes, it was
in reality an uphill task given the meagre funds and limited resources
it had. But the hope was alive that the tasks would not be stranded
in between, given the genuineness and credibility of the purpose. We
hope to get all support from the supporters and donors in the developed
world and the well to do locally. We believe that millions of people
living a better life, would surely want to support not so fortunate
ones ridden by poverty.
Based on the above belief, KHUSHII took the initiative to reach, inform
and sensitise people living a well off life, corporates, donors, employees,
school going children and college students etc. about the development
challenges facing financial crunch in India, hoping to receive a positive
response. |
