Last year, many of us, who shared the growing pride of India’s rising stature in the family of nations and who also shared an equal measure of discomfort for that -“other” India which has got left behind, had gathered together to shape “India on Canvas”, a unique forum for art, charity and rare investment. Conducted by Christies at the residence of The British High Commissioner in New Delhi it was hailed as the art event of the decade. 120 collaborative works were auctioned over a thrilling 4 hours as 1400 people watched the raising of funds Khushii. Over the last few years, Khushii had been working as a social development catalyst.

Now, the new funds will facilitate a continuation of our work to uplift that other India. The overwhelming response of the both the participants and the buyers motivated us to organize “India on Canvas 2007” again in series to seek your participation in this unique endeavor to bring forth a collective interpretation of India using the medium of art. A list of eminent Indians will collaborate with the greatest names in the art fraternity to jointly produce a canvas which is expected to be auctioned at a distinguished gathering in Mumbai hosted by His Excellency-The Governor of Maharashtra on Sunday, 28th of October 2007.
