Fundraisers
Published by on
Our past seven years have seen innumerable big and small fundraisers, that have helped us sustain ourself. To this day, with the support of our near and dear ones we feel highly encouraged and motivated to keep our efforts going in making every day a bigger and brighter one. On 19th of August, 2011, Khushii stepped into a new and positive phase of World Action Forum, with the 'Khushii and India Tourism Development Corporation' tie up for 'Skill Development & Employability' under the Ministry of Tourism's 'Hunar se Rozgar Tak' programme. Keeping the fervor and zeal going, Khushii will continue putting all its heart into making World Action Forum an initiative that will strive for the larger cause of 'India Development'. To keep the momentum going, Khushii and World Action Forum have planned three fundraisers for the months of October and November. The dates though are yet to be finalised, the cause and the idea behind them are crystal clear. With every woman having a fettish for bags and shoes and clothes, we didn't have to look far for an idea for our next fundraiser. 'Bagwati', a name made famous by the latest Bollywood flick, Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, will now get associated to the cause of charity. 150 – 200 designer bags, as new as on the day they were bought, donated by our kind supporters, will be auctioned starting at marginalised reserve prices ranging from Rs. 15,000 – Rs. 20,000 onwards. What makes this initiative even more fulfilling is the way 'one' conscious effort of our supporters will extend happiness in 'two' clearly distinct ways – one by contributing to the need fulfillment of the beneficiaries and two, by extending a chance to another lady to own a designer bag. So, hoping 'Bagwati' gets the same respect and admiration she got in the movie, we look forward to your help in ensuring her efforts do not fall in vain. The same month will also find another fundraiser taking shape, 'Royal Treasures'. As the name suggests, this dazzingling exhibition-cum-sale fundraiser, beholds a spectacle of royal khazaana. From antique furniture and pieces of intricately designed collectibles, to ancestral jewellery and attire; from mystical artworks of the time to embossed candles, such treasures and more will be opened for our guests over a period of two days. With royal families of Jaipur, Baroda, Kapurthala, Udiapur and so many others participating, this initiative shall offer a splendid opportunity for our supporters to experience nawab-e-andaz in its true sense. Moving on to the month of November, World Action Forum shall formally launch the 'Buy Blue' initiative, by hosting a multi-city-same-time party launch. Starting with the cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore, this multi-city bash shall bring to the fore front, our much endeared endeavour 'Buy Blue' that will work with corporates, both in the services and products' industry, and raise funds for WAF's sustainability. So while the music is loud and dance floors come alive, we would invite our kind supporters to join us in our efforts yet again.
