Neemrana Community Development Project was taken up to bring a holistic change in a cluster of villages in and around Neemrana. It was to create awareness on their abilities, and help them to exploit their own potential within their environment thus, discouraging them from migrating to metropolis and being forced into petty crimes to make ends meet that Khushii started work at Neemrana. Various awareness generating activities have been undertaken to make the programme successful.
The Ten Areas of Intervention :
Mental Hygiene
Encouraging and training to grow beyond set patterns of thinking
Physical Health
Educating people on first aid and creating awareness on importance of timely medical intervention as also facilitating the same through health camps in collaboration with various health care providers.
Family Planning
Changing mindsets to make the rural populace responsible citizens and parents and spreading awareness on the benefits of a small family. Also, introducing concept and usage of contraceptives through nukkad nataks.
Reproductive Child Health
Includes awareness generation activities through household sessions on pre and postnatal care and vaccinations. Also, involving the existing infrastructure and human resource available at Community Health Centers (CHC’s) and Public Health Centers (PHC’s).
HIV AIDS
Spreading awareness through sessions with trained workers.
Hygiene & Sanitation
Educating the villagers on proper standards of Hygiene and maintenance of sanitation within and outside their homes.
Grooming & Etiquette
A very important aspect as it has brought about a new confidence in men and women who have learned and honed their skills of conducting themselves in their interaction with others.
Computer Literacy
A crucial area of intervention computer literacy is the need of the hour as it is part of the new age economy skills. Computer literacy opens new avenues for both the young and old alike.
Legal Literacy
Being aware and in touch with ones legal rights and understanding the basics of managing personal bank accounts and finances.
Career Counseling and Self Analysis
Helping and assisting on identifying individual and group potential and routing towards viable career options. The effort is to place them through our in house placement cell Drishti.
