Providing an equal opportunity for children through Tutorials

Education is a boon that unfolds new vistas by virtue of generating awareness. Khushii firmly believes that education plays a crucial role in empowering the beneficiary. There are two aspects of education, the first is teaching those who have never attended school and the other is ensuring those who attend do not drop out due to various factors like lack of motivation, social and family pressure, poor quality of teaching etc. Khushii has intervened in both areas through the following components.

  • To provide an equal opportunity to all Khushii has been running remedial classes and imparting value based education to over four hundred and fifty school going children of Neemrana.

  • Khushii is supporting thirty one children of Andaman and Nicobar islands undergoing formal education at Sikkim.

  • Adult beneficiaries include sixty women who have not just undergone formal education but also been empowered in legal and financial literacy.

Shikshaantra targets for February 2008…

  • Take Remedial Education to the doorstep of the underpiviledged child. The number of children thus benifitting from Remedial classes will increase to 2000.

  • The number of adult beneficiaries will increase to 250. The aim is not just to generate awareness but also to empower the women by formation of self-help groups and introduction to micro finance thus, encouraging them to enroll themselves with Project Aparajita to acquire vocational skills resulting in economic contribution to the family.

  • The effort is also to provide women with training in vocational courses; and finding them placements through Drishti.
