Nisha Jamvwal
"When I consented to aid the cause of Khushii in Bombay, little
did I
imagine that that it too would be an important part of my
journey of self
discovery and learning! Looking back at the last
few months, I have learnt
so much from my association with,
and work for Khushii – learning about
giving, learning about
sharing, learning about being part of an ‘organism&rsquo larger
than my own personal goals and ambition.
Khushii has been a
catalyst for this and more. I realise that to be part of
making
India into the ‘superstar in the world’ scenario, one must stop
denigrating politicians and their policies and instead become
part of, if
possible a motivator of, the growth and metamorphosis
of this
country.Harveen, Aman, Garima, Vikas, Rajiv, Sapna,
Kadambari and the
rest of the Khushii team are now my
extended family;
as are the inmates
of the old peoples homes
and the children for whom education is to be
provided with the
funds generated by ‘India On Canvas’, who may be
unknown to
me, but a large part of my life is dedicated to them. My
grateful
thanks to Vandana and Harveen for inviting me into the Khushii
family, and most of all to my light, my husband KRS Jamwal who
has
supported me through every adventure, and most of all
borne with me
through working weekends and late nights, while
I arranged the artistic
liaisons he called; the Khushii ‘marriages.'" |
